You know the religious and political attitude of the first settlers. You know why weapons, religion, education and town hall meetings were important for the first settlers. You know the reason why more colonies were founded. You know why the 13 colonies can be divided into 3 groups and what distinguishes these groups geographically/economically. You know the terms "indentured servants" and "salutary neglect" and can explain their significance. You know how to "describe" an average American colonist.
